hiRon Smith Baseball Camp: 10 Principles of Baseball
COACH SMITH'S 10 PRINCIPLES OF BASEBALL

At Ron Smith’s Baseball Camp at Furman University your child will not only learn the fundamentals of the game of Baseball, but he will learn that Baseball through Coach Smith teaches the values of life.

At camp your son will take to the field and learn the fundamentals of the sport of Baseball, but more importantly he will learn it in an atmosphere of shared excitement and lots of individual coaching.  Each camper will learn different positions in the game through enthusiastic practices.

Most importantly, Coach Smith and his staff will teach the legacy of the game, the principles of life on and off the field, how to confidently accept constructive criticism as your camper improves his skills, and learn the deep respect from the strength that comes from winning as a team.

Coach Smith teaches and believes in the following life skills principles as they apply to the game of Baseball:
1. Be a good learner
2. Play fair and maintain your dignity while you play the game.
3. Don't make excuses - work on your mistakes and try to improve each day.
4. Changing the past is not possible; plan for the next play or the next game as they are in your control.
5. Never give up - try until you succeed.
6. Play smart and analyze your mistakes.
7. Baseball is a game of reaction - focus on one thing at a time.
8. Be a good winner and remember that achieving success is not difficult, but retaining a hight level of success is.
9. Don't bring things to the ball park that will distract you from the game you are about to play nor bring the game home so that it takes away from your family life.
10. As in life, play to have fun!

Your child will learn directly from Ron Smith that Baseball can teach a player values and principles to be followed in life.  As you take your child from camp this summer you will see a new sense of enthusiasm for not only the game but for the steps in life that will lead him towards ultimate success off the field.
